LIFE GOES ON

Thought that I had better post something since it has been almost 2 weeks and some people, or person, namely Sybil, thinks that I am not alive. Cameron probably thinks so too since I have not produced any pictures of my house for him. I will get to it as soon as I can.

The past two weeks have been pretty up and down as far as Western Kentucky is concerned. One day it will just be COLD, COLD, COLD, the next day it will be OK, and then we get an ice storm or two to sweeten the pot. The whole town shuts down, except for Owen Cleaners, the grocery stores remain open, so that people can fight over the last gallon of milk and loaf of bread on the shelf and stuff like that. It's pretty much the craziest thing that I have ever seen. The ice does bother me, but not the snow. I would be happy if Old Man Winter were to dump a couple of feet of snow on the ground and just get it over with, but no, we have to have that stinking ICE! Seems to be pretty nice today, but I have yet to go outside to see whether or not I need to bundle up or just wear a sweater.

No big events have transpired, except for the fact that Wesley lost his first tooth! I sure do miss him and Bailey and Will.

I haven't cooked much this week! It's not that I haven't had the time, but, I feel that my creativity for creating meals has purely diminished to nothing. I am tired of cooking the same old thing all of the time. I have tons of recipe books that I have gone through, and nothing sounds good, looked at recipe websites on the internet, and nothing sounds good, etc.. I wish that all of you that read my blog would contribute some new and creative ideas with me. You do have to remember that I live with 2 men who are almost strictly meat and potato guys. Pete will try new things, but Edwin seems to be more finicky! When Bill posts a recipe for something that he has made I usually write it down and look forward to attempting to do what he does with pasta, but it probably won't be as good as his. So, does anyone have any that they are willing to share?
But, as far as the ambition to cook, I will be proud to tell you that I got up the other morning at 4 a.m. and baked a chocolate cake and took it to work.
WORD OF THE DAY! ( I know that you all have missed this little feature, well probably not, but you are going to get a word of the day anyway.)

PATIENCE PICTURE
This is Wesley at Megan and John's wedding last summer, I guess that he had just finally had enough! The picture is courtesy of Steve Utz, who graciously did me a huge favor, by taking pictures at the wedding and the crazy reception. I guess that I need to make him and his sweet wife Karen about 30 more loaves of bread to show my appreciation.

Paducah is no longer Quilt City, USA. It is Ice City, USA.

Valerie-
check out this blog

It is so inspiring, delicious, easy, fun! Check out her old recipes, too. Plus she does recipes with the leftovers the next day! She's just a regular person, not a chef.
Poor Laurie from Minnesoooooota leaves today. It was sunnier and warmer there than it was here.
Patience, who misses you when you don't blog
